What’s the difference between Osteopathy & Physiotherapy?
In short, not much!
Osteopaths and Physiotherapists share a holistic approach towards treating the body. They both acknowledge the connections between various systems, and treat accordingly.
Both Osteopaths and Physiotherapists utilise a combination of manual therapy and exercise based rehabilitation to address musculoskeletal issues. While their educational backgrounds and titles may differ slightly, at CB Physiotherapy our philosophy is that you will be treated the same!
Osteos and Physios often work together as part of a multidisciplinary team and now CB Physiotherapy is one of those teams. We are joining forces to provide comprehensive care and help people achieve their physical health goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of a wide range of medical conditions by emphasizing the interrelationship between the body’s structure and function. It is based on the principle that the body has a natural ability to heal itself, and that this process can be supported through manual therapy and other treatments.
Osteopathy is commonly used to treat conditions like back pain, headaches, sports injuries, postural problems, and chronic pain. It is recognized as a complementary and alternative medicine and can be used alongside conventional medical treatments to promote overall health and well-being.
Osteopaths use hands-on techniques, such as stretching, massaging, and manipulating the muscles, joints, and tissues, to improve mobility, relieve pain, and enhance the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Unlike some other forms of manual therapy, osteopathy considers the whole body, including the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, and circulatory system, when diagnosing and treating a condition.
